About the Author
Melvin D. Rowe has been selling his ceramic work since 1972 and has been a full-time potter since 1981. He holds a B.F.A. and an M.A., both with a concentration in ceramics. He created the ceramics program at Metro Arts Center in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, and has taught at two colleges and conducted many workshops. He has written for Ceramics Monthly and The Crafts Report, among other publications, and has been published in both Canada and Australia. Although his first love is clay, Melvin's interest in what he would term "making things" includes woodworking, primarily on the wood lathe, carving, leather work, and several other media. An avid outdoorsman, he lives on his small, mostly wooded horse farm in the bluegrass region of Kentucky.
